Keynote Speaker, Emily Brooks, Author of CT Farmer and Feast

Emily Brooks is a leading principal authority in the local food and sustainable agriculture movements. Founder of Edibles Advocate Alliance (TM), Emily nurtures social entrepreneurs who support local agriculture, sustainable farming, and sustainable food systems, and specializes in supporting organizational needs such as business planning, inbound marketing support, strategic planning, grant writing assistance, social media market positioning, online brand niche, nonprofit development & grant funding strategies, project management, and the systemic creation and implementation of strategic plans.

 Rich Cowles, CAES, Valley Lab, will be discussing the history and natural history of this pest, currently registered options available for its management, and research results from my laboratory that should provide better options than conventional approaches to manage this pest from the perspective of reduced impacts on natural enemies, reduced pesticide residues on ripe fruits. Some of these advanced IPM techniques are organically acceptable.
